Each of the recommended uses stated is based on accumulated knowledge of the way this oil has been used in traditional aromatherapy. 

Patchouli has a rich, earthy, spicy and woody aroma. Calming in small doses, yet refreshing in high doses, the aroma may also curb the appetite. Eases digestive discomfort and may soothe bronchial irritation. For topical applications, its antifungal properties are useful in managing tinea whilst antiseptic properties benefit skin abrasions and irritations and managing symptoms of mild acne. Helpful for the treatment of corns as well as providing relief of discomfort associated with itchy skin conditions including dermatitis, eczema, minor sunburn and allergies.
